Allegheny Aqueduct/ Beidler House
The Schuylkill Navigation Company built the Allegheny Aqueduct in 1824. This “bridge for boats” was needed for the water of the canal to successfully cross over the Allegheny Creek. Restoration of the Aqueduct took place in 1983 and the structure was listed as a National Historic Site. The Beidler House was built in 1783 by Conrad Beidler to serve as a home for the operator of the nearby grist mill. The house is now open by appointment and for special programs.

Antietam Lake Park
Located in Lower Alsace is this 643-acre watershed and recreation area. The 13.5 acre lake served as a water supply for the City of Reading for almost 100 years and is now a popular fishing and hiking spot. Pets and horseback riding are allowed in this park area.

The Appalachian Trail is one of the longest continuously marked footpaths in the world, measuring roughly 2,180 miles in length. The Trail goes through fourteen states along the crests and valleys of the Appalachian mountain range from the southern terminus at Springer Mountain, Georgia, to the Trail’s northern terminus at Katahdin, Maine.
Arrowhead Public Golf Course
Conveniently located in Douglassville. Our two courses, the nine hole Blue Course and the eighteen hole Red & White course, will challenge golfers at all levels of play. The Blue course is a regulation par 35 course at 2,505 yards, with one par 5 and two par 3s.
The Red & White course is a par 71, 6,002-yard course, with four par 5s and five par 3s, one of which is 245 yards. We offer a snack bar, rentals, leagues, golf outings and a top-of-the-line Pro-Shop for all your golfing needs.

BAMBA (Berks Area Mountain Biking Association)
BAMBA was established in 2012 as an IMBA (International Mountain Bicycling Association) Chapter in Berks County. BAMBA is a non-profit educational association whose mission is to create, enhance and preserve great trail experiences for mountain bikers in Berks County. BAMBA seeks to preserve, protect, and promote mountain bike access and diverse riding opportunities within Berks County’s public and private lands through education, communication, and unified action.

The Beidler House was built in 1783 by Conrad Beidler to serve as a home for the operator of the nearby grist mill. Ths mill, built in 1766 was destroyed by fire and only the stone walls remain. The house is open by appointment and for special programs.
